Your Perfect Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Super Form Based on the Astrological Sign
The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement across the fandom. Starting with the one-by-one unveiling of newcomers ahead of the title's release, to trainers forming strong views on the full lineup of new Megas, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
Given many of the Super Forms boasting unique designs that highlight their traits, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? This list is based on a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was nearly selected for Aries, as they are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. But, a Super Houndoom appears as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes Aries much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Stay on the good side of either and benefit from a strong partner; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a devoted Taurus, the reliable Heracross, whether in its regular and Mega form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, each the creature and a Taurus are also battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed love of treats. Many previous Pokédex entries mention their fondness for tasty sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it all, which is true Taurus energy.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute royalty. It's impossible to convince me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, offering an constant stream of gossip to those who wish to listen. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's incredibly simple to imagine Mega Medicham captivating an whole Wild Zone with their stories. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to predict an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very like a people-smart Twins.
Cancer – Super Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign known for frequently getting absorbed in their feelings. Per the official info, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of energy, but it's excessive for Manectric to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. It is also known for its capability to make a thundercloud over its very self – and if there’s one thing a Crab is likely to do, it’s spoil their good time.
Leo – Super Starmie
Well, did you think I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Aside from the reality that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose legs just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s exactly the same energy a Leo offers to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be putting on a performance, albeit for aliens.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly critical is clearly reflected throughout this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a always surprised face like a Maiden when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Look at this sweet, sensitive creature, who employs the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to keep the peace, there are many Scales who would likely appreciate Super Audino's skills. Though, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry more about others.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
Banette is a creature with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Abandoned as a doll, it became consciousness through pure hatred and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpio friends. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly putting on a performance. As a Archer personally, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful small entertainer” is innumerable. The showiest and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its description even mentions how it “flexes to display its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius match I can imagine.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to foresee disasters ahead of time? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often consistently believe they’re right. The thing is, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Aloof air sign Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its sister sign is Leo, and there are countless jokes about the Archer and Water Bearer being unpredictable accomplices. Super Chandelure's dual Spirit/Flame category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting aura is also extremely Water Bearer. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Super Form's description says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
