England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The show will be aired from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
